Montecatini is situated at the foot of the Pistoian mountains and enjoys fresh breezes which complement the Mediterranean climate to make ideal holiday temperatures. In June you can expect upper 20s, in July around 30 degrees and in October, mid 20s.
The Hotel Torretta is situated 200 metres above the funicular railway which gives access to the delightful hilltop village of Montecatini Alto. Thanks to Montecatini’s geographical position, places of great interest such as Lucca, Pisa, Volterra, Siena, Pistoia and above all Florence (half an hour by car), are within easy reach.
Delightful excursions may be made from Montecatini. At Collodi you can see the gardens of the Lucchese Marquis Garzoni, one of the most famous in Italy, with its statues, busts, fountains, waterfalls and noble terraces. Just three miles from Montecatini, is the remarkable Grotto Giusti at Monsummano. It is covered with a splendour of stalactites and stalagmites, and stretches a thousand feet or more into the bowels of the mountain.

Dante Simoncini and his charming family deliver the highest standards of personal service. The traditional Italian cuisine is excellent and guests are made to feel very special. The en-suite rooms are individually air-conditioned and well appointed. The hotel has a lovely outdoor swimming pool. The hospitality of the Torretta hotel was much appreciated by our 2007, 2008 and 2009 guests.
